We are very proud of SAY and what we are accomplishing in partnership with youth, families, volunteers, donors and community partners. As you can see from the site, SAY encompasses a great many programs and services. Those services and programs have grown in response to the changing needs of children, families and communities in San Diego.

If you look closely at SAY, you will see that despite the growth and change, some things have not changed. Staff and Board remain respectful of each other and of the children and families we serve. The changes in our communities and our children and families still profoundly impact the whole agency and we have never stopped listening. Staff, Board and volunteers are proud of the quality in what we do and our offices and program sites literally hum with the energy of their commitments.
People talk a lot about mission driven organizations but when I look around SAY, I see mission driven people...Board, staff, volunteers, parents, children...mission driven people driving an organization.
The growth and change is also getting us closer to a dream we have held for years. It is a dream in which there are enough services in one place so that we could see and hear the whole person rather than "the delinquent child" or "the failing student" or "the drug abusing child" and families could find what they needed in one place without being shunted from agency to agency. It is a dream in which the people who work at SAY and the places we work in are so accessible, that our families, our youth, and our communities are service partners rather than "clients." It’s a dream in which there is enough momentum and partnership that we can see the whole community pull together on behalf of its children and families. We are getting closer. We can see it. We can taste it. The possibility of it has quickened our hearts and put a spring in our step.
Welcome to our web site and thank you for your interest in SAY.
