Project Keep

Project KEEP

This 16-week, 2-hour per week program provides participants with the evidenced-based KEEP curriculum designed to address the unique issues experienced by relative caregivers and foster parents. Project KEEP partners with foster parents and kinship caregivers to improve their children’s behavior and decrease stress, all while building a supportive caregiver network.

Services Include:

We know that you are busy, so we offer groups during the day, evenings, and even weekends. Here are the core services offered by Project KEEP’s foster parents curriculum in English and Spanish that help you learn the skills you need to provide healthy, safe lifestyles and help the foster children under your care thrive:

  • Support from Other Caregivers: Fostering can feel isolating, especially when you’re facing tough behavior challenges or feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes, you just need someone who gets it. We offer a community of parents who understand the unique struggles of fostering. Whether it's dealing with challenging behaviors, managing stress, or celebrating little victories, having others who share your experiences creates a sense of solidarity and belonging and offers a lifeline that helps you feel supported every step of the way.
  • On-site Childcare: As a foster parent, it’s difficult to find time for yourself. We offer convenient, safe, and nurturing on-site childcare during program events to give you that time, providing peace of mind while you invest in your well-being and engage in vital training and support sessions. It’s a way to invest in yourself while knowing your children are in caring hands, making it easier to focus on your growth as a parent and improve the life of your family.
  • Up to 8 hours of Annual Training: The foster parenting journey is always evolving, and it’s essential to stay equipped with the latest tools and strategies. With Up to 8 Hours of Annual Training, you’ll gain access to essential resources that help you manage everything from trauma-informed care to behavior management. The knowledge you gain from this training does more than improve your confidence; it transforms your ability to provide the best care for the children in your home. Invest in yourself to provide better for your family.
  • Weekly Incentives for Participants: Being a foster parent is a rewarding but sometimes thankless job. But we believe in recognizing your hard work. We offer incentives for participating foster parents that give you that little extra motivation. We want to show you that your efforts are appreciated more than you probably know. These incentives are a reminder that your commitment matters.
