Wellbeing for San Diego
Mental Health Care Shouldn’t Have a Waiting List
In a city as resourceful as San Diego, no one should wait months for mental health care. SAY San Diego has united civic leaders, corporate partners, and your neighbors in a combined effort to provide immediate, permanent mental health support for our children and families.
Quality care is a right. Join us in protecting that right for those who cannot advocate for themselves.
Goal:
Raise $2M to unlock 1,300 permanent therapy sessions a year for children, teens, and single mothers.
A Promise to San Diego
San Diego families face a heartbreaking reality on a daily basis; when a child struggles with anxiety, isolation, or trauma, they are often met with a 3-to-6-month wait for insurance-approved care.
While our schools provide vital initial support, that care frequently ends after just six sessions, even when a child needs far more to truly heal.
When our children are in crisis, they cannot wait for a "system" to catch up. They need a WellSpring of support that never runs dry.
Our promise to San Diego is to inspire our community to ensure everyone is taken care of.
How the WellSpring Initiative Works
The WellSpring initiative aligns the city’s resources to ensure mental health care is accessible, culturally sensitive, and immediate. We don't just allocate funds; we put them to work through a sustainable model designed to last for generations.
- Expert Care from Our Team of 14: We utilize our own staff of 14 community-trained therapists who live and work in San Diego.
- Filling the Gap for Families: The WellSpring Fund picks up where school districts and insurance companies leave off.
- Investing in Perpetuity: We are raising a $2 million endowment. By investing this capital, the annual returns fund 1,000+ therapy sessions every single year.
- Dignity and Commitment: To ensure engagement and better outcomes, recipients provide a modest $10 co-pay.
