Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drug Prevention Programs
The Central Region Prevention Coalition (CRPC) mobilizes youth, residents, and community partners to address the trend of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.
The coalition is dedicated to promoting safety and cleanliness and to preventing and reducing youth use of alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis in the City Heights community.
Stash Your Stash™ partners with legal cannabis retailers to promote safe storage habits that prevent youth access and protect children and pets from accidental ingestion.
Collective Coalition
The Collective provides culturally responsive substance misuse prevention programming for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults identified as special populations that face health disparities.
Tobacco Policy Research Center
The Policy Research Center for Tobacco and the Environment is conducting short-term projects aimed at gathering data to inform tobacco-related policies across California.
Coastal Communities
Coastal Cities works with the Unincorporated Area’s residents, stakeholder groups, and the Board of Supervisors to advance a policy making 100% of outdoor public places entirely smoke-free.
Harm Reduction Program
SAY San Diego’s Harm Reduction Program provides education to help prevent fentanyl overdose deaths, promotes the safe disposal of unused or expired medications, and advocates for Good Samaritan Laws.
From Sugar to Heroin
The From Sugar to Heroin project is implemented in partnership with high schools and equips students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make healthy decisions while understanding the risks of substance use.
This program mobilizes community members, youth, and local organizations in the North Central region of San Diego to prevent adolescent substance use and minimize associated harms.
Community Development Collaboratives
Crawford Community Collaborative convenes a monthly meeting to learn about and share current opportunities and trends impacting students and families in the Crawford area.
A network of over 50 agency and school representatives, the Collaborative provides opportunity for ideas, communication, coordination, advocacy, and networking.
The San Diego Military Family Collaborative provides one coordinated place where military families can find resources and stay strong, healthy and connected.
The City Heights Roundtable (CHR) builds collaborative partnerships among community-based organizations to expand effectively supporting the children, youth and families.
