SAY San Diego relies on volunteers to make a positive difference for kids, families and communities. Volunteers bring a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective. While most of our volunteers work directly with youth, SAY San Diego also needs volunteers to help with office work, special events, and projects. Last year, volunteers contributed more than 16,500 hours to SAY San Diego!
The SAY San Diego Volunteer Experience
SAY San Diego wants you to have a successful and fulfilling volunteer experience. Our volunteers receive appropriate training for their position and on-going support throughout their time with us. Volunteer placements are made based on program needs, your interests, availability, and strengths. In order to provide consistency to the children, youth, and families SAY San Diego serves, all volunteers in an ongoing position are asked to make a commitment of 4 months to 1 year, depending on the program for which you volunteer.
“I never would have thought I would speak to my high school student body about volunteer work, but SAY made it easier for me because I grew to become passionate about volunteering. I am certain that I will continue to volunteer with SAY in the years to come.”
-Andrea, volunteer youth tutor
