In cooperation with the San Diego Unified School District, SAY San Diego provides the PrimeTime program to over 3,000 children annually. PrimeTime provides a safe place for elementary and middle school age youth to experience academic enrichment and recreational activities during the hours before and after the regular school day. The programs are designed to create an enthusiasm for learning. SAY is one of the largest providers of PrimeTime programs in San Diego.

Programs are located in participating school sites. Programs are free, with funding provided by the State of California.

Each PrimeTime program is open to students attending the host school. Space is limited and priority for enrollment is based upon criteria established by San Diego Unified School District. An application must be submitted to be considered for enrollment. Applications for the 2017/18 school year will be available online only beginning Monday, March 6, 2017, at 6 a.m. An email address and internet access will be required to create an account to complete an application. The program is subsidized by government grants and there are no participant fees.
