FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Whisknladle Hospitality Hosts “A Day of Giving” to Meet Urgent Human Needs!

SAY San Diego Named Beneficiary for November 15 Giving Event!

Whisknladle and SAY San DiegoSan Diego CA (October 24, 2016)—To kick off the holiday season, the well-known hometown San Diego restaurant group Whisknladle Hospitality is donating a day of earnings to 45-year-old hometown youth, family, and community service nonprofit SAY San Diego. 2016 marks the second year of the Whisknladle drive for SAY San Diego. In 2015, Whisknladle raised nearly $10,000 for SAY at the “Day of Giving” event. Arturo Kassel, Partner & Chief Executive Officer was delighted by the results in 2015 and hopes 2016 is an even bigger fundraiser for SAY. “We’re pleased and honored to be working once again with SAY San Diego for this year’s Day of Giving fundraiser. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us at Whisknladle Hospitality to give back to the community and support an organization that’s doing such incredible things in our community. There are a lot of families in San Diego County that benefit from the many services provided by SAY and we’re happy to help with their efforts in any way we can.”

On Tuesday, November 15, 2016 servers from each of the 5 Whisknladle locations will generously donate tips for the entire day. Managers at each site will donate a day’s salary to SAY San Diego. “What incredible generosity—imagine what it means to give up a day’s salary, tips, and proceeds to support your neighbors in need. That’s exactly what the Whisknladle Hospitality Group is doing! SAY San Diego is tremendously grateful and honored to have been chosen as their beneficiary partner for a second year. Please plan to enjoy delicious food, good company, AND support San Diego children and families at any of the five Whisknladle restaurants on November 15,” said Nancy Gannon Hornberger, President & CEO of SAY San Diego.

As an added bonus, Champions for Youth, a campaign created by the Century Club, will add bonus funds to the Whisknladle donation to SAY San Diego. It’s triple win—by dining out, participants can help children and families in need, support SAY San Diego and access extra money to every dollar through Champions for Youth.

ABOUT WHISKNLADLE HOSPITALITY:

Whisknladle Hospitality began in 2008 as the brainchild of owner and proprietor Arturo Kassel and owner and Executive Chef Ryan Johnston. Seeking to bring “good food, good wine, and great people” together in one family of restaurants, the pair set out on a journey to change the face of San Diego’s culinary world forever. The Whisknladle Hospitality team focuses on creating comfort food with unexpected gourmet twists. With a strong dedication to a farm-to-table culinary concept, Whisknladle Hospitality menus are in constant flux and reflect the best local farms and seasonal bounties have to offer. Kassel and Johnston’s first venture, Whisknladle, opened in February of 2008 in La Jolla, Calif. Given the warm local and critical reception of the restaurant, Whisknladle Hospitality opened its second restaurant concept, Prepkitchen, in La Jolla, Calif.; soon followed by another in Del Mar, Calif. The third Prepkitchen opened in 2012 in downtown San Diego’s Little Italy neighborhood. In 2015, Whisknladle Hospitality opened its fifth venture, Catania, a coastal Italian restaurant in the heart of La Jolla. For more information, menus, and hours please visit www.wnlhosp.com.
