O’Farrell Family Support Services is a collaborative effort between O’Farrell Charter School and SAY San Diego to address the social, emotional, and economic needs of O’Farrell students and their families. SAY San Diego and partner agencies and organizations provide students and families with a range of prevention and early intervention services.
O’Farrell Family Support Services (FSS) offers individual and family counseling, case management, crisis intervention, community agency referrals, and much more. O’Farrell FSS is located on the campus of O’Farrell Charter School and is administered by SAY San Diego.
During the 2014-2015 school year more than half of the students that the program worked with improved their attendance.
Project L.I.V.E (Lessening the Impact of the Victims Experience) is a program for children at O’Farrell Charter School who have an incarcerated family member (or a family member who has been recently incarcerated). The goal is to help students who demonstrate poor social and academic skills, depression, or potential delinquency behaviors, resulting from the separation from their parent/caregiver, to become healthier emotionally, socially, and academically.
